Highlights from the January 10, 2011 Board Meeting
With the continued increase in student enrollment, the school's finances are stable. With half of the fiscal year over, both income and expenditures are within budget limits. Income is slightly under budget (48.4% instead of 50%) and expenditures slightly over budget (51.47%). Areas of strength are our continued enrollment increase and improved fund balance. Area of concern is the possibility of signficiant reductions in state funding.
The school received $4,100 in individual donations this year.
Board members were reminded to get their criminal background check before March 15.
The school will contract with ACHIEVE Board Certification for on-line board training.
The board voted to continue last year's faculty tuition reimbursement for graduate credit program for another year. |

Board of Trustee Minutes for January 10, 2011
President Mike Bauer called the meeting to order.
Financial Report: In the absence of Treasurer Mike Ashmore, Mr. Furrier gave the financial report. Our CSADM funding for December was $92,988.92, which was based on an FTE of 147.44 CCIP Title I funding for December was $4,477.10. With half of the fiscal year over, we should have spent and received half of the budgeted income and expenditures for the year. Income is slightly under anticipated revenue (48.4% instead of 50%), and spending is a little over anticipated (51.47% instead of 50%). Areas of strenth are the continued enrollment increase and an anticipated good ending balance; area of concern is the possible signficant reduction in state funding. Cafeteria Report: The number of breakfasts served this year increased by 599 meals when compared to last year; the number of lunches increased by 905. Expenses were slightly higher ($169.44) than income. A total of 5410 meals have been served this year.
Federal Form 990: The board approved the federal tax form for organizations exempt from income tax. The form was prepared by Fraunfelter Accounting Services.
Donations: The board received $4,100 in donations from 16 individuals. Donations ranged from $25 to $1,000.
Criminal Background Checks: Board members who did not have criminal background checks were reminded to get them no later than March 15.
Board Training: Kids Count of Dayton approved the school using ACHIEVE Board Certification for state requirred board training. Cost for the on-line training is $1,800.
Board Reimbursement for College Tuition: The board voted to continue for one more year the policy of reimbursing teachers for graduate level college tuition costs, as long as the teacher meets certain guidelines.
