Highlights of the October 26, 2010 Board Meeting
Tom Mack, Dohn Community High School Social Studies teahcer, spoke on behalf of Pieter Elmendorf.
The board moved into executive session to discuss personnel matters.
At the conclusion of the executive session, the board moved into open sesession.
Acting on a recommendation of Superintendent Ken Furrier, the board voted to hire Ramone Davenport as principal of Dohn Community High School at a salary of $60,000, effective October 25, 2010.
Acting on a recommendation of the Superintendent, the board voted to hire Pieter Elmendorf as lead teacher of the transition program, at an annual salary of $43,000, plus a supplemental contact of $10,000 to administer and re-organize the program, plus a possible supplemental contract of $3,000 to revise the curriculum used in the Transition program.

Minutes for the Octobert 26, 2010 Board Meeting
President Mike Bauer called the meeting to order. Members Bauer, Lipcius, McClain, Morrison and Wager were present. Members Hesser and Parlin were absent. Non-members in attendance included Superintendent Ken Furrier, Treasurer Mike Ashmore, and teacher Tom Mack.
Hearing the Public: Tom Mack, social studies teacher at Dohn Community High School, spoke to the board on behalf of Pieter Elmendorf.
Executive Session: Jesse Lipcius moved, and Rick Wagner seconded, moving into Executive Session to discuss matters of Personnel. The motion was passed
Motion to Return to Open Meeting: Rick Wagner moved, and Russ Morrison secodnded, moving into Open Meeting. The motion was passed
The board acted on the following motions:
1. Superintendent Furrier recommended Ramone Davenport be appointed Principal of Dohn Community High School, effecctive Monday, October 25, 2010 at an annual salary of $60,000. The motion to adopt the Superintendent's recommendation was made by Pam McClain ad seconded by Rick Wagner. The motion was adopted 5-0.
2. Superintendent Furrier rrecommended Pieter Elmendorf be hired as the lead teacher of the transition program, effective Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at an annual salary of $42,000, with a supplemental contract of $10,000 to administer and re-organize the progam, and a possible supplmental conttact of $3,000 to rrevise the curriculum used in the transition program during the summer of 2011, if needed. The motion to adopt the Superintendent's recommendation was made by Jesse Lipcius, and seconded by Rick Wagner. The motion carried 4-1, with Pam McClain voting no.
There being no further business before the board, the meeting was adjourned. |
