Enrolling New Students

We welcome your family to Dohn Community High School.
 
Why Enroll in Dohn Community High School?
Here are a few reasons why you should consider DCHS:
  • We're a small school where students receive individual attention
  • Students who are behind in credit can recover that credit during the school day, after-school, or in our summer school.
  • Teachers are interested in the success of each of their students. Teachers have fewer than 100 students - so they have time to work with students on an individual basis.
  • Students who have not yet passed the Ohio Graduation Test receive addition help in their academic classes and in a special after-school study session devoted exclusively to the OGT.
  • Our summer school is a low cost option that allows students to either study for the OGT or make up credit. Last year, the cost for the four-week program was under $30.00.
  • DCHS is truely a school where a student can turn his or her life around
Who can enroll?
In order to enroll in Dohn Community High School, students must meet the following requirements:
  • Be between the ages of 14 and 21
  • Have completed the 8th grade and eligible to take 9th grade classes 
  • Be a resident of Hamilton, Clermont, Butler or Warren counties
  • Have withdrawn from their current school
The school follows a rolling enrollment policy which allows students to register for school throughout the school year and summer.
 
What steps do I follow in order to enroll?
There are two easy steps required to register:
First, contact the school either by phone (281-6100) or in-person during regular school hours (7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. any school day) and schedule a time to enroll; and
Second, bring the following documents with you to your meeting:
  • Your child's birth certificate, passport, or Visa
  • Your child's social security card
  • An official copy of custody documents
  • Proof of residence (utility bill, bank statement, lease agreement)
  • Your child's most recent report card or transcript of grades from previous school (if available)
  • Health records for your child (a list of immunizaions your child has been given)
  • The completed enrollment forms (available on line or from the school)
Both the student and the parent or guardian must be present for the interview.  The enrollment process can be completed in one meeting.
 
The school requires a non-refundable down payment of $20.00 on the school fees during the enrollment interview. School fees may be paid in full when the student enrolls or on a monthly payment plan.
